About Nav Chetna Welfare Society

A youth-led, registered welfare society working every day to turn awareness into action across Western Rajasthan.

Our Story

How Nav Chetna Began — From a WhatsApp Group to a Registered Society

Nav Chetna Welfare Society was founded on 15 July 2020 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, by a group of passionate young individuals who shared one belief: that real change starts with people willing to show up.

It began as a simple WhatsApp group called "Education Help Society" — no big plan, no funding, no identity — just a sincere desire to do something. Through this group, Prakash Choudhary, Monika Kachhwaha, Pharshu Beniwal, Bharat Anjana, Rupkishor Choudhary, Avinash Prajapat and others connected.

What started as conversations about social issues slowly turned into action. During the Corona pandemic, when the world was retreating into their homes, these young volunteers stepped out to help — arranging plasma donors, blood supplies, oxygen cylinders, and supporting displaced families.

On 29 December 2024, the journey received its formal identity — registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958 (Reg. No. COOP/2024/JODHPUR/500176). On 1 January 2025, the foundation of the office was laid. Nav Chetna had become more than an idea — it had become a movement.

We didn't wait for permission to start caring about our city. We just started — and kept going.

— Nav Chetna Welfare Society

Our Mission

To reach the last person left behind by circumstance — through education, health support, environmental action, and social awareness — ensuring dignity and opportunity for every section of society, especially the voiceless and the vulnerable.

Our Vision

A society where change doesn't wait for permission — where sensitive, compassionate youth take responsibility for those around them; where no child is denied education, no elder feels abandoned, and no family faces crisis alone. Nav Chetna envisions a new social consciousness across Rajasthan and beyond by 2030.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Compassion in Action

We turn empathy into visits, hours and effort — not just intentions.

Lead by Example

Our own team shows up first, in public roles and behind the scenes alike.

Community First

Every programme starts by listening to the people we serve, not deciding for them.

Transparency

Registered, accountable, and open about who we are and how we work.

Social Awareness Campaigns

We run on-ground and digital campaigns that raise awareness on the social issues affecting our communities most — from public health basics to civic responsibility.

These drives are often the first step: before communities can act, they need clear, honest information delivered by people they trust.

  • Street and neighbourhood awareness drives
  • Simple, honest messaging over jargon
  • Built around issues communities actually raise

Community Support & Outreach

Our team works directly with communities to identify real needs and connect them with the right support and resources.

We don't arrive with a fixed plan — outreach starts with listening, then follows through with practical help.

  • Direct, on-ground community visits
  • Needs identified together with residents
  • Follow-through, not one-time visits
Leadership development workshop
Grow By DoingReal responsibility
Focus Area

Leadership Development

We believe in leading by example and developing leadership qualities in the community members and volunteers who work alongside us.

Rather than one leader directing many, we try to build many small leaders — people who can carry an initiative forward even when we're not in the room.

  • Real responsibility for volunteers, early
  • Mentorship over management
  • Judged by what continues without us
Elder care and dignity initiative — Nav Chetna Welfare Society visit to a Jodhpur old age home
Flagship Initiative

Elder Care & Dignity Initiative

Our most personal work yet: visiting Jodhpur's old age homes to honour the people who gave everything for their families, and now often ask for nothing more than company.

We met people who gave their everything for their families — now yearning only for love and presence. We don't just visit. We stay, we listen, and we come back.

This is where "dignity" stops being a word on a page and becomes an afternoon spent sitting with someone who's been waiting for it.
